Q&A with Nick Timothy MP on the Assisted Dying Bill
We are pleased to host a public Q&A session on Thursday 31st October 2024 from 5.30pm to 7pm with Nick Timothy, MP for West Suffolk, about the Terminally Ill Adults Bill, which is due for debate in parliament at the end of November. Commonly called the Assisted Dying Bill, it would allow individuals on end-of-life care expected to live less than six months to choose to end their own life, with appropriate safeguards.
This session allows us to debate the political implications of the bill, as well as some of the social, ethical, moral and spiritual reasons for supporting or opposing the bill. This is an important topic, and as a church we want to encourage good, honest discussion about death, dying, palliative care, bereavement and grief. We hope this is one way of doing that.
Please register for free tickets online in order to attend this session. The session will also be livestreamed online via Facebook and YouTube.
If you would like to put a question to Mr Timothy during the session, you can do so in person at the event, or send your question in ahead of time by email. Please only submit your question by email if you are not planning to ask it yourself at the event.
