Light up a Life with St Nicholas Hospice

18 December 2021 15:00

UPDATE: St Nicholas Hospice Care are no longer able to host this service, to protect the patients, staff and volunteers at the hospice. There will be online services broadcast from Tuesday 21st December on the hospice website, which will include the reading of any names submitted.

We will still run our own service on Saturday 18th December at 3pm, which will also be accessible online, for those who wish to attend a live service. We recognise that Christmas can be a difficult time of year for those who have been bereaved, especially in a year when many have been denied the opportunity to grieve openly, and that being part of a community is an important part of coping with feelings of grief, loss and bereavement. If you are attending in person, face coverings are now a legal requirement unless exempt and you are encouraged to use free lateral flow tests - for more information, please see the government website.

The annual Light up a Life service hosted by St Mary's for St Nicholas Hospice Care is on Saturday 18th December at 3pm. This is for anyone - whether or not you have had a loved one cared for by the hospice - to remember the departed. Christmas can be a difficult time of year for those who have been bereaved, so this gives an opportunity to name, remember and pray for those whom we love but see no longer.

Names to be read out during the service can be submitted via the St Nicholas Hospice website, where there is also an online service for those unable to join in person.
